US Visa program is minor league compared to this

I going to talk about the United Nations World Relief Refugee Resettlement Program. The program was invited into the US by our illustrious elected officials in Washington. The President and Congress are supposed to determine "who and how many" international refugees we receive but since the 1990's the UN has chosen 95% of who we get from where and how many we get each year. It gives the UN huge control over a large portion of our immigration system. If there were ever an illegitimate immigration policy in dire need of reform, this is it! This program started in the US in 1948 to allow refugees in from war-torn Europe. It reached another level in 1975 when so many Vietnamese were allowed in to escape their communist oppressors. The UN was invited into the process of determining our refugee influx by the US Refugee Act of 1980 and the rest is history. The following paragraphs are verbatim from the home page of the UN program and are specific to the US (http://worldrelief.org/refugee-resettlement/programs).

Programs

Reception and Placement

The moment refugees step off their plane, they are greeted at the airport by a World Relief representative who takes them to a fully furnished home. For new refugees, everything is new and unfamiliar. Every day is an opportunity to learn how to become self-sufficient. For the first 30 to 90 days in the United States, World Relief helps a new arrived refugee apply for a social security card, attend an initial health screening, register for school and/or English classes and access other needed public services. New refugees also attend orientation classes where they learn the basics of life in America, including topics like health and hygiene, safety, budgeting, immigration status, laws and cultural practices. In everything, World Relief aims to empower refugees to be self-sufficient in their new life. All of this is achieved through a partnership between World Relief and the US Department of State's Bureau and Population, Refugees and Migration.

Match Grant

A $2 to $1 matching grant provided by the Office of Refugee Resettlement allows World Relief to offer social and employment services, temporary cash assistance and temporary rent/utility assistance, all of which promote self-sufficiency and quick acclimation to the community. The Match Grant program also encourages the local community to get involved in the resettlement of newly arrived refugees, as volunteer hours, in-kind and cash donations all contribute to raising the funds necessary for the $2 to $1 match to be unlocked.

Unemployment Services

Refugees entering the U.S. are eager to work and establish themselves as contributing members of society. All of the refugees resettled by World Relief are legally authorized to work and ready to enter the workforce. World Relief helps adult refugees secure full-time jobs while providing the training and resources they need to remain and advance in the workplace. World Relief also provides ongoing assistance as employers and refugees overcome potential obstacles.

Other Local Office Programs

World Relief resettles refugees in 22 cities around the U.S. Each office offers unique programs for its refugee population and opportunities for its surrounding community.

Now back to me and my comments. Doesn't that all sound peachy and rosy? I especially like the parts where they talk about all the give-away programs that help to make the refugees self-sufficient. We give them free social security cards so they can take jobs away from Americans; we give them free health care; we give them free housing; we give them free schooling; we give them free English classes; we give them free life lessons; we give them free utilities; we give them free cash; we give them all the free social services they want; all in the "aim to empower refugees to be self-sufficient in their new life". That is typical liberal/socialist thinking.

Another part I felt all warm and fuzzy over was the learning of the American culture and way of life. Since the 1970's there has been negative assimilation by immigrants/refugees into the American culture. They set up in centralized areas totally out of touch with American values, culture or laws. The hygiene lessons are especially necessary because most have never even seen a toilet or wash sink much less used either. They can't speak English and have no desire to learn it. They flee the supposed oppression of their homeland yet they set up here using the same old repressive ways. Their home countries rid themselves of the burden to care for them at home by sending them to America. Seems to be an excellent way to be rid of some very bad characters. Remember the Mariel Boat Lift? From April through October of 1980 Castro cleaned out his prisons and sent 125,000 refugees, convicts included, to the US. Miami is still paying the price. Thank you Jimmie Carter.

The United Nations is in control of American taxpayer money and has no qualms about spending as much of it that they can get their hands on. By the way, I could not find a site that could confirm the amount of money spent on this program. I did find a site that had a lot of statistics and numbers though: refugeeresettlementwatch.wordpress.com/refugee-resettlement-fact-sheets/. The following info is from that site.
  • From 1975 to the present over 3 million have been allowed into the US under this program.
  • Since 1980 the annual number of refugees allowed into the US has averaged 98,000 even though the annual allowed quota is only 70,000.
  • The refugees receive no disease testing; they account for over half of the TB in America.
  • Welfare costs are not added into the over-all cost of the program. Estimates say that accounts for an additional $20 billion.
  • The use of Supplemental Security Income (SSI cash)  by the refugees is 4 times higher than native-born Americans.
  • Democrat VP Biden's home state of Delaware takes in fewer than 10 refugees per year. Biden, as a US senator, sponsored the US Refugee Act of 1980.
  • Republican Governor Sam Brownback of Kansas, when he was in the US Congress, rejected Somali refugees into his own state even though he was a major supporter of increased refugees into the US.
  • Washington DC has allowed fewer than 200 refugees into their neighborhoods between 2007 and 2012.
This is me again, look at the last 3 bullets and repeat after me: NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard). Another glaring example of our Washington elite saying "do as I say, not as I do".

The only way for this program to work is for there to be "sponsors" for the refugees. Do you remember the days when local churches sponsored new arrivals into their communities; helped them find housing; jobs; schools at the churches expense as good Christians? Five of the nine current major sponsors are still Christian organizations, but they no longer spend their own congregational money on the refugees. On the contrary, the organizations are paid $1,850 by the US State Department (read US taxpayer) for each refugee they sponsor onto US soil. They expend virtually no private money to get the sponsorship funds. At the end of 4 months they don't even have to account for where the refugee is located. Pretty good gig, huh? Along those same lines, many of the current refugees are coming from African and Middle Eastern countries like Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Syria. All are predominately Muslim countries who are persecuting and killing Christians and yet Christian refugees account for less than 25% of our refugee population from those areas. Wouldn't you think the current emphasis should be on dying Christians? That appears to be a rhetorical question so I am left to assume that it is all about the money. Business as usual.

God Bless America!!!
