Washington: get your heads out of your...sand box

Did you ever notice how little time liberals spend bashing each other during a primary election cycle? They spend all their time bashing their political opponents on the other side of the aisle. They never talk about what they will do to fix our flailing economy. They spend a lot of time talking about what entitlements they can give their voters and how they will use other people’s money to do that. They spend an equal amount of time lying to the American population about how the Republicans intend to take those entitlements away. The liberals in this current presidential administration, in my humble opinion, have come very close to destroying any chance the United States of America has to ever completely recover from this financial crisis. The sad fact is that for the last several years establishment Republicans have been complicit in that destruction. The current liberal presidential contenders have every intention to double down on the amount of fiscal debt our great-grandchildren will have to struggle to repay.

On the other hand, Republican presidential contenders spend most of their time and energy trying to destroy each other. They seldom talk about what their liberal opponents will do to continue the destruction of the American way of life. In some fashion, you have to feel bad for the last Republican standing because his fellow Republicans have spent the time and money necessary to provide all the ammunition to be used against them by the liberal opponent. Like I said in my book, Freedom Permits, Republicans eat their own and liberals promote theirs. Case in point: look what the establishment Republicans are doing to their presidential primary front-runners Trump and Cruz. The liberal press never reports liberal candidate inadequacies. The conservative press, in conjunction with the liberal press, always point out Republican inadequacies whether they are true or not. In all forms of political campaigning telling the truth to voters is not conducive to being elected.

I’ve said from the beginning of this presidential election cycle that I don’t believe Donald Trump would be a good face for America; better than Obama but still not good. I have a very large and very negative trust issue with the Donald. It has not been many months, which coincides nicely with his run for president as a Republican, that Donald Trump has been espousing conservative values. Do you honestly believe that Donald Trump, who is a giant in the service industry, would seriously interrupt a constant flow of cheap maids and gardeners coming across the southern border? Donald Trump inherited a reasonably large sum of cash from his father. Donald Trump cannot possibly understand what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck. He brags about all his business deals and his excellent ability to negotiate with anyone and claims he always comes out the winner. If my memory serves me properly Donald Trump has declared bankruptcy three or four times. Using other people’s money to buy privilege and success, and not paying it back, sounds like a liberal concept to me. Can Trump be trusted with America’s finances?

I’m now done bashing the Donald so I will tone it down a little and say “kudos” to him. Donald Trump has done in four months what no one else in America has had the man parts to do in recent history. I did the same thing in my book but Donald Trump has the megaphone. What I’m talking about is his total disregard for political correctness. He says the things out loud that everybody else whispers. I honestly believe what he says about closing the southern border is a disingenuous gesture but at least he is saying it. I do believe that he’s being genuine when he says we need to limit the influx of Muslim refugees into the United States. I don’t doubt the fact that Donald Trump is a patriot and would like to secure our American lifestyle against Islamic invasion. He may very well be saying the things he says as a means for soliciting votes as any politician would do even though he claims to be a complete political outsider. At least he has initiated the necessary conversation. Another good thing he has accomplished is the fact that he has outed the Republican political establishment and its blatant disrespect of their conservative base.

In this new world atmosphere created almost exclusively by Obama the world’s dictators and thugs have been emboldened to act out all their fantasies because of Obama’s international weaknesses. And just as excrement rolls downhill Obama is ignoring Congress, the U.S. Constitution, and common sense. Also caught up in the downhill roll are the American people because Congress now ignores them. Congress has been disenfranchising the American people for many years now but never realized how bold they could be until Obama showed them how bold he could be in his effort to bypass the Congress. It seems everyone gets what they want except “we the people”!

I’m going to close this blog with something I discussed in my book. The Washington Beltway elitist bureaucrats/donor class/lobbyists have lost touch with the reality of the average American life. They spend virtually all of their time being pampered in their congressional offices or their mini mansions in the well -groomed neighborhoods in DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Their $174,000 wage, along with their million dollar budgets to maintain their office staff and the free health care and retirement benefits and limo service, have jaded them to the financial plight of their constituencies. Where they live the unemployment rate is the lowest in the country. The median household income where they live is the highest in the country. When they do go to their home states they are treated like rock stars. They attend fancy $25,000 per plate dinners held in their behalf with people begging them to take their money. In their closed universe there is no economic crisis.

In their eyes they work their fingers to the bone in our behalf and they have no clue why we aren’t grateful for their efforts. They have passed laws that have completely obliterated our morals and our morale and do not seem to have any intentions to reverse or even slow down the destructive process. They have taken God out of everything. They’ve turned truth and accountability into an “inside the Beltway” joke. For whatever reason they believe being elected to a federal position automatically makes them  an expert about everything. Our Founding Fathers never intended for political office to be a career. The elected representatives were to go to Washington and legislate on behalf of the people and then go home to their everyday jobs. Now they seldom go home to listen to the voters that put them in office. They actively avoid the old “town hall meetings” because they do not want to listen to our problems, the problems they have created for us. They refuse to be held accountable for the implementation of those problems. And with all of that said the Washington elitists still cannot understand why the American public is so angry at them. In their universe life is good. The rest of us have to learn to cope! Washington needs to understand that Donald Trump is doing very well in the national polls by catering to that anger. More than half of the American population is saying (quoted in the 1976 American movie Network): “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore”. Washington also needs to understand that that anger is going to be aimed at them during the upcoming elections.

God Bless America!!!
