I watch Fox's "The Five" on a fairly regular basis. I normally can count on the group to espouse reasonably conservative common sense. On September 8th the discussion was about County Clerk Kim Davis of Rowan County, Kentucky. She was jailed for contempt of court for refusing to issue homosexual marriage licenses at her county office.
I always expect the liberal wonks on that show to come up with total garbage on most occasions. What I don't expect to happen is for the usual four "conservatives" to spew crap like they did that night. I will have to learn to cope with this as the political correctness overtakes our common sense and corrupts our morals. Kimberly Guilfoyle, Eric Bolling, Greg Gutfeld, and Dana Perino all were critical of Ms. Davis' refusal to issue marriage licenses to homosexuals based on her religious beliefs. Juan Williams agreed with the others but I would expect that from him. It was discussed that homosexual marriage was upheld as a constitutional right by the US Supreme Court recently and is now the "law of the land". Each of the four in turn stated that Ms. Davis should be required to issue those licenses regardless of her moral convictions. In other words: homosexuality trumps religious belief. The Founding Fathers knew how important Freedom of Religion is, so much so that it is covered in Amendment 1 of the US Constitution. Homosexuality nor homosexual marriage are mentioned in that document and certainly don't command their own amendment!
I believe each of them on the panel drank the PC kool-aid and now accept the bovine excrement that we all must now accept the homosexual lifestyle as presented. I didn't drink the kool-aid and don't expect to any time soon, if ever. I don't criticize them for their decision to accept that. What I criticize them for is their hypocrisy. All four of them have loudly and frequently pounded the table about how bad Obamacare is and that it should be overturned. What they seem to have forgotten is the fact that Obamacare was upheld as constitutional by the same Supreme Court that just recently declared homosexual marriage a constitutional right. Both have been declared the "law of the land" and therefore must be upheld. It even passed by the same 5-4 vote. Hypocrisy at its basic level.
I stopped watching Sheppard Smith several years ago for reasons I won't go into right now. Suffice it to say I lost complete respect for him and his eliteness. (I don't think that is a real word but you get my point.) His politics fall somewhere between RINO and CNN reporter. His claim to fame is as a "fair and balanced" news reporter. He is not touted as an opinion journalist but as a reporter. There is a big difference in that distinction. He recently called Kim Davis' supporters "haters". He said that these are the same people who complain about the use of Sharia law (Muslim) in the US. I would hope that is true! He claimed that these "haters" were not interested in accepting homosexual marriage as the new law of the land. Again, I would hope that is true! That was not a news item but purely his biased opinion. As a reporter he is supposed to be neutral but he failed miserably on this one.
Eric Bolling stated, and most on the panel agreed with him, that if Ms. Davis can't bring herself to sign marriage licenses for homosexuals then she should pursue a new career path. In his opinion religious beliefs have no place in government. That is the exact attitude that has fostered the destruction of morality in government specifically and in society in general. We have been relegated to accepting God-less and corrupt public servants that possess no moral compass. That isn't something we face in the future. We are living it right now.
God Bless America!!!
