Trump - the "Provocateur"

I will admit up front that I would be hard pressed to vote for Trump in a Republican primary but I would not hesitate to vote for him in a national election against any liberal/socialist. Trump has only leaned Republican in the last few years and I believe he will always be mostly liberal at heart. What excites me about Trump is the fact that he is forcing a national debate about one the most critical issues pertinent to the  future of America: illegal immigration. Everyone says he is a "one trick pony" but I am here to tell you that illegal immigration affects all aspects of American life.

An unsecured border affects our national security. Mexican and Central/South Americans are not the only foreigners crossing our southern border. There is a very large number of world terrorists also coming in. The Border Patrol admits that about 10% of the invaders they catch are OTM's (Other Than Mexican). A large number of those are middle eastern from Yemen, Egypt. Iran, Iraq, and Syria. In order to not appear Islamophobic, I will say that I am positively, unequivocally, without a shadow of a doubt, able to concede that they are just coming here for a better way of life and will only take a job that Americans won't do. (Don't worry, I crossed my fingers behind my back.)

Illegal immigration is a serious drag on our economy. "But illegals are hard working and productive". That could be true, but that does not negate the fact that 71% of immigrants are on some or all of the taxpayer funded social giveaways: welfare, food stamps, free housing, Medicare and free medical services, and qualify for Earned Income Credit whether they worked or not. Taking American money and sending it to Mexico is money that may very well never be spent again in the US.  That does not benefit the American economy.

Our American public education system, as pathetic as it already is, is now so burdened with non-English speaking children that there is a small possibility that any child is getting even a minimal education. There is no longer any pressure to teach in English in America. "It is too hard for the foreign kids to learn a second language" so we will hire teachers that can teach in their language. Los Angeles County, California has 224 identified languages and 92 identified languages in their school system. Will there ever be a point again that we will cater to Americans rather than to our border invaders?

Although federal law states illegals are not eligible for Obamacare there is little incentive to prevent them from obtaining it. In March 2014 Michelle Malkin reported that Oregon "accidentally" signed up 4,000 ineligible illegals. Multiply that by 50 states and 3 years and there are probably hundreds of thousands on Obamacare. American taxpayers were already providing illegals with health care through Medicare and hospital emergency rooms; we are now making it official through Obamacare. There have been hundreds of local hospitals fail financially and have to close because of the financial burden of having to provide un-reimbursed emergency care.

American sovereignty is at stake. We are quickly becoming a nation that is not recognizable by any American that is more than 50 years old. I am over 60 and I am totally disappointed in the direction that the US has gone in the last 30 years or so, all thanks to, and a result of, the liberal social changes made in America beginning in the 1960's. The mantra for so many years was integration. That was pretty much accomplished until illegal immigration got so massive. Even legal immigration is no longer conducive to integration. Most immigrants concentrate in their own communities and outsiders are not welcome in their areas. They want to enforce their own laws and rules. If they had to leave their mother country because of repressive laws why do they feel the need to bring them with them and enforce the same here?

I long for the days of legal immigration going through Ellis Island. They processed millions around the turn of the century all done legally and by our rules. Now there is no process, and no rules on a 2,000 mile border. This brings me to my last topic: a fence. Obama sent the US Corp of Engineers to build fence in the middle east but we can't build it here. We have had laws passed that would require a border fence be built but it never happens. There are laws on the books right now saying that more fence is to be built but everyone is dragging their feet. We have about 650 miles of "fence", half is pedestrian and half is only vehicle barriers. The other 1,350 miles are wide open.

Let's put this in a little eye-opening perspective. In the third century B.C. in a span of about 50 years, China built 3,000 miles of "fence" in the form called The Great Wall of China. The width of the base of the wall varied in size from 15 to 50 feet. The height varies from 15 to 30 feet and usually had about 12 feet of parapet on top of that. It was all made of cut stones and dirt fill under stone pavement. There were guard towers for security personnel at regular intervals. Look at pictures of the wall and take special note of the terrain that a very large portion of the wall was built on: very rugged mountains. Over the next few centuries China ended up building about 13,000 miles of wall, all to repel invaders. Why can't we build a fence/wall to repel our invaders? With the technology and resources we have it would be a relatively simple process to build a concrete and steel barrier that would be nearly impenetrable. We would need a strong project manager to make it happen and I have a brother-in-law that would fill that position well. I suppose an electrified fence with motion activated 50 caliber machine guns would be a little too much to ask for but let's leave those options on the table.

Thank you Donald for making the Washington establishment and the main stream media address illegal immigration and  some may finally take notice of it's detrimental affect on the US.

God Bless America!!!
