A breath of fresh air eminating from the Washington sewer

First let me start by apologizing for my absence, a needed hiatus from the madness. I'm back and loaded for bear.

I'm going to deviate from my usual cynicism and do a blog with a positive note. For the last couple years I have been following the actions of a new member of the House of Representatives named Mark Meadows (R-NC). He came into the House in 2012 as a Conservative. He seemed too good to be true so I have reserved my opinions about him until now. The reason for my delay is simple: we have had so many Republicans voted into office based on conservative principles but have in turn abandoned those principles as soon as they move to D.C. Mark has not done that. Instead, Mark has fought the establishment Republican leadership on several occasions if he felt they were not following good conservative practices.

Mark is a "military brat". He was born in France while his father was stationed there, strike one. He grew up in the Tampa, Florida area and his parents are from Arkansas and Tennessee, respectively, strike two. He is an "evil" capitalistic real estate developer, strike three. He is a true Conservative. He is automatically a bigoted, homophobic, misogynistic racist based on the liberal playbook. That's why I am developing a serious fondness for the man. Let's go further into his ideologies:

  • opposes the House giving Obama uncontrolled power on the global trade agreements.
  • opposes gun restrictions and registries
  • opposes cap and trade emissions regulations
  • opposes abortion and Planned Parenthood funding
  • opposes federal spending on bogus stimulus programs
  • opposes tax increases including capital gain, corporate, and estate taxes
  • opposes Obamacare
  • opposes Obama's illegal alien amnesty
  • opposes EPA's over-reaching water control grab in the name of  "clean water"
  • opposes same sex marriage
  • opposes taxpayer funding of Hezbollah
  • pro balanced budget
  • pro domestic energy growth
  • pro southern border control (enforce existing immigration laws)
Having researched this info and now actually reading what I wrote makes me realize what  a dangerous extremist he is: making me the same since I agree with it all!

Mark has butted heads with  House Speaker John Boehner on several occasions since going to Washington. He seems to have a serious dislike for the Republican leader's lack of advancing a Conservative agenda. Boehner's continuous spineless groveling  to Obama appears to agitate Mark as much as it does me. Even more reason to like him.

Rep. Meadows has submitted a resolution to "vacate" the chair meaning he wants to remove Boehner from the Speaker of the House leadership position. He has listed several reasons for wanting him gone based on his complete lack of Conservative leadership and his complete capitulation to Barack Obama. Obama is getting more of his socialist agenda advanced under Boehner's leadership than he ever got when his own party was in majority. Boehner has removed Meadows from a committee over Meadows' criticism of past Boehner leadership failures. It looks like the Speaker is a little touchy about his authority being questioned. I have to assume that this latest action will get Meadows some serious censorship from the Leader.

I have been saying for a very long time that we need new leadership in the House and the Senate. I'm referring to Senate leader Mitch McConnell who is nearly as pathetic as Boehner. I mentioned in my book that Mitch was one Tea Party offense away from switching to the dark side and over the last several months he has basically gone over.

There are several Conservatives in Congress like Goemert, Cruz, and Lee. Meadows is another addition to the group that gives me hope that Washington insiders do not yet have absolute control over our conservative agenda. Meadows' seems to possess the necessary "man-parts" to make a difference in D.C.

God Bless America!!!
