In my book Freedom Permits I included a chapter
about RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) and provided a short list of those I
consider to be less than true Conservatives. In that same chapter I included a
short list of those I considered to be true Conservatives. Some of those I
praised will now appear on my new list of “Republican useful idiots”. Since my
list is two days old some of the names may have changed but I’m not going
to remove them from the list because I want my readers to know how ignorant
even some so-called Conservatives can be when it comes to this election cycle.
The list of “never Trump” people is quickly becoming shorter now that the reality
has set in that Trump has virtually secured the Republican nomination. But I
would also like to point out how quickly some of the hard-core Trump opponents
in the race to be the GOP nominee may soon change their opinion of Trump if
asked to be his vice president. The names Marco Rubio and Chris Christie come
to mind. Actually, according to the Republican Establishment, Chris Christie
has already crossed over to the dark side. In my humble opinion Chris Christie
would be a lousy running mate choice.
With that little spiel out of the way I will now produce my
list of “Republican useful idiots”:
1.
Bill Kristol a columnist for the Weekly
Standard.
2.
George Will a supposed Conservative newspaper
columnist.
3.
Glenn Beck the host of Blaze TV and radio.
4.
Thomas Sewell is a Senior Fellow at Stanford
University and also a conservative columnist.
5.
Mitt Romney who is a past loser of a
presidential election. Sour grapes anyone?
6.
Paul Ryan is a past loser as VP in a
presidential election and the current Speaker of the House. In his short tenure
as speaker of the house Paul Ryan is already established himself as a yes-man
to Obama meeting he was one of the original useful idiots.
7.
Senator John McCain from Arizona is less worried
about this country and his Arizona constituents than he is about the
detrimental effect he perceives a Trump nomination will have on his 2016
reelection.
8.
Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona is in lockstep
with his mentor McCain.
9.
Senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina is
another McCain worshiper.
10.
Stephen Hayes another columnist for the Weekly
Standard and a faux Conservative regular contributor to Fox News.
11.
J. C. Watts is an ex-Representative from
Oklahoma who voted for Obama so there’s no surprise there.
12.
Christie Todd Whitman the former governor of New
Jersey may change her mind if Trump picks Chris Christie as his VP.
13.
Senator Marco Rubio from Florida may also change
his mind if Trump wants him for VP.
14.
None of the “Bush Dynasty” players or their
respective staffs will support or vote for Donald Trump.
15.
Louis Gohmert is a House member from Texas. I
thought better of him.
16.
Mike Lee is a House member from Utah and another
personal disappointment.
17.
Tom Cole is a House member from Oklahoma and yet
another personal disappointment.
My Conservative radar failed me miserably with the last
three names on the list. I had praised all three of those gentlemen in the past
either in my book or in my blog. There is no doubt in my mind that they are Conservatives
but they are woefully misguided in their refusal to accept, support, and vote
for Donald Trump if he is in fact the GOP nominee. I have said this on several
occasions in the recent past: a “no” vote for Trump is equivalent to a vote for
Hillary. How anyone can possibly conceive that a Donald Trump presidency would
be worse than a Hillary Clinton presidency is beyond my comprehension. It
defies critical thinking and moral logic to accept that premise. I hope no one
thinks that I am looking forward to Donald Trump being the President of the
United States. What I do want you to understand is that if he turns out to be
only half Conservative he will still be better than Hillary as a 100% socialist.
If he follows through on his illegal immigration promise and actually builds a
wall on our southern border he will effectively solve many ills of the economy
and national security.
Also of great importance would be Trump’s preservation of a Conservative Supreme Court. The next president will likely pick
three and possibly four Supreme Court Justices. The list of possible nominees that
Trump publicized last week could each be welcome additions to the Supreme Court
and to the preservation of America for decades into the future. The average age
the Supreme Court Justices leave the court is nearly 79; Breyer is 78; Kennedy
is 80; Ginsburg is 82; Scalia died in office recently at age 80. Only 54% of past Justices retired while in office the rest died while in office. But alas, allowing
Hillary to load the Supreme Court with liberals is just another major flaw in
the thinking process of the “never Trump” useful idiots. Please end the destructive
idea of a third-party candidate and support the GOP candidate regardless of
personal biases. Saving America is vastly more important than saving RINO jobs.
God Bless America!!!
